Put yourself in the shoes of an ornithologist: observe their movements, try to identify and count them.

Benches are also available to allow you to relax while observing the birdlife.

Don't forget your binoculars for an even more immersive experience.

The reception pavilion, with its shop, awaits you at the end of your visit to complete your experience.

A UNIQUE PLACE WITH A RICH HISTORY

The Parc du Marquenterre located in the heart of the Baie de Somme National Nature Reserve is the ideal place to observe nature and especially birds.
This protected area has been a mecca for ornithology in Europe for 40 years.
200 ha of marshes, dunes and reed beds located between land and sea where birds stop for a few days to recharge their batteries during their migration while others come to winter or reproduce.
It is the fruit of a human transformation.
Formerly used for growing tulips, it is today an ornithological sanctuary of European renown, managed by the Syndicat Mixte Baie de Somme-Grand Littoral Picard.

EDUCATIONAL AND RECREATIONAL EXPERIENCES

A DISCOVERY THROUGH THE SEASONS

Spring: This is the end of migration and the beginning of nesting. Birds build, incubate and raise their young.

Summer: Nesting ends, the young take their first flights while the large gliders and shorebirds are already flying over the park to the south.

Autumn: Migration is at its peak, the birds gather, cross Europe and stop in the bay. We observe a beautiful diversity of species.

Winter: Large numbers of ducks, geese and some waders spend time on the vast expanses of water.
